Quality
Safety for product and application: JL Goslar introduced a certified quality assurance system as early as 1994.
JL Goslar's quality management system has been certified in accordance with the new process-orientated standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 since 2004.
The system is being further developed and adapted in a continuous improvement process.
With the aim of installing an integrated management system that meets the requirements of quality, environmental protection and occupational safety in equal measure, we have firmly anchored an environmental quality management system in all processes and structures since the mid-1990s. Consequently, the environmental management system was also certified according to the international environmental standard DIN EN ISO 14001 in 2014.
Environmental protection and sustainability
Responsible use of resources and recycling has long been of great importance to us. Because recycling minimises the need to extract further resources from the earth, extends the life of existing resources and enables a complete cycle.
Lead has the highest recycling rate of all common metals. This is the result of the metal's physicochemical properties and the product design, which makes lead-based products easy to identify and economical to collect and recycle.
Lead and its alloy are particularly durable. Many of our products are in use for decades and can be reintroduced into the cycle at the end of their life. This makes them particularly environmentally friendly and also makes economic sense. Resource use and waste production, emissions and energy waste are minimised by consistently closing energy and material cycles.
The low melting point of lead and its alloys allows recycling with minimal environmental impact and greenhouse gas generation than many other materials.
Recovery and processing take place in a well-established, resource- and energy-saving cycle. The residual metals produced in our production processes are collected by type. Metals that cannot be reused as feedstock are remelted into high-quality raw materials in our partners' smelting plants. We are proud of our raw material recycling rate of 99%.
